Scenic Walk along Lake Taupo

Just before the sunset we reached our destination- Taupo, situated in the shores of the largest freshwater lake in Australasia. Indeed a true laid-back town reflecting all that is wholesome and fresh about NZ. It was a beautiful sunny day. We had a great afternoon taking photos of the scenic views along the lake shore.

Time away is about enjoying the simple things in life. Eat, rest, get active, have a bit of family fun. October 27, 2008 is Labour Day, a public holday in NZ, we opted to take a road trip to TAUPO, a tranquil little town in the North Island. The locals love this place because of its relaxed pace of life.

(9:16AM) On our way to Taupo, we passed by the back country road of Tongariro. Along the way you will see volcanic landscapes of Mt. Ruapeho, home to NZ's largest ski areas.
